BINDING

Wiro Binding

Also known as wire binding or twin-loop binding, this method uses a durable metal wire that loops through punched holes along the edge of your document. It allows the pages to lie perfectly flat when open and even flip a full 360 degrees - ideal for presentations, manuals, notebooks, calendars, and journals.

  • Professional appearance
  • Durable and long-lasting
  • Easy to read and write on
  • Perfect for up to 280 pages
  • Available in sizes: 8mm to 32mm

Spiral Binding

With spiral binding, a plastic coil is wound through the punched holes along your document’s spine. This flexible and lightweight option allows pages to turn smoothly and lie flat when open. It's a go-to choice for everyday printing like training manuals, student notes, and booklets.

  • Affordable and flexible
  • Can fold back on itself
  • Suitable for day-to-day use
  • Holds up to 195 pages
  • Available in sizes: 8mm to 32mm

Comb Binding

Comb binding uses a plastic spine with round teeth - "combs" - that are inserted through holes punched along the document’s edge. One key benefit is the ability to add or remove pages without re-binding the entire document, making it a practical solution for evolving documents.

  • Cost-effective and reusable
  • Pages can be added or removed
  • Lays flat when open
  • Ideal for up to 450 pages
  • Available in sizes: 8mm to 51mm

ENCAPSULATION vs LAMINATION

Different Finishes for Different Needs

Many customers ask for “lamination,” but did you know that lamination and encapsulation are not the same thing? While both apply a clear protective film over your print, the difference comes down to coverage and purpose.

Encapsulation

Encapsulation wraps your printed item in a plastic film that completely seals it on both sides, extending beyond the edges with a 4mm clear border. This creates a waterproof, wipe-clean surface that's ideal for items exposed to moisture or frequent handling.

  • Fully sealed protection
  • Waterproof and durable
  • Perfect for menus, signage, and instructions
  • Available in:
    • 150 or 250 Micron (A4 & A3)
    • 150 Micron (A2 & A1)

Lamination

Lamination also covers both sides but is trimmed to the edge of the paper - there’s no clear border. While it still protects against wear and tear, it’s less waterproof than encapsulation and is more about delivering a sleek, professional finish.

  • Elegant, edge-to-edge finish
  • Great for covers, posters, and business cards
  • Enhances colour and durability
  • Available in:
    • 24 Micron Gloss
    • 27 Micron Matt
    • Sizes: A4, A3, A2, A1

Tip: If you're not sure which finish you need, just ask! Many customers use "lamination" as a catch-all term, but understanding the difference helps ensure your print is fit for purpose.
